You have a very fine woofer, one of the best 15s ever made. They are becoming scarce and valuable these days. Your readings are fine; it is a 30 ohm voice coil. The cone should be saved if possible as it is irreplaceable. The cone assembly is removable by loosening the screws at the rim hoop and spider; most likely the coil is rubbing due to junk in the gap or slight misalignment. I could work on the driver for you, or maybe trade you for something else. If you like, write to me at stfrsc juno com (add * and .).

Agree -- go slowly with this classic. You have the equivalent of an unrestored Auburn Boat-tail found in a barn.

    Hi David ,

I traded an Atwater model 84 radio for the MI 1444 , the previous owner wanted to use it for a bass guitar speaker . I did a little research before the trade and had seen that others in working condition had brought two G's + for a working speaker .

I want to find it a loving home on the north american continent and not Hong Kong .

If some one would restore it and keep it in the US would sell it for $$650.00 + shipping

Why don't you put it on ebay and specify US shipping only? Granted that won't absolutely guarantee it doesn't leave the US, but it's a good try, and you'd get your money.
